Questions. An Icebreaker Idea

4/17/2014

Groups that come to Rainbow Lodge are often made up of people who may be new. There are some fun, creative, non-threatening ways to encourage everyone to get to know each other. We found one icebreaker that could actually extend throughout a retreat. And if the actual "game" doesn't fit, you might find the questions to be of use in some other "challenge".

Check out the game here.

Or on Facebook.

I really resonate with your point about icebreakers being "non-threatening." In a retreat setting, the goal is to open up, not to feel pressured. I love the idea of an icebreaker that can extend throughout the entire stay—it builds such a natural rhythm!

Inspired by the peaceful and connecting environment of places like Rainbow Lodge, I’ve been working on a project called IcebreakerClub.com.

My goal is to make facilitation as stress-free as possible. We’ve designed several "play-ready" digital tools, like interactive question generators and Bingo cards, that facilitators can just open and use. They are perfect for those moments when you want to spark a conversation without any heavy preparation.

I’d be so grateful for your feedback on the site. As someone who hosts retreats, do you think these kinds of "digital assistants" would be helpful for facilitators looking to keep things simple and engaging?

Thank you for sharing your insights!
