What we offer: More than just a job
We really are a small, close-knit team. Oftentimes, working at the Lodge feels like working with friends. We try to co-create a workplace that feels truly welcoming, spacious, and caring. We work hard together so that our guests can experience the beauty of this place and its surroundings. And often, we're inspired by the meaningful work our guests are involved in, and it feels rewarding to support them.
Scheduling
Due to the nature of retreat center work, the Cook’s work schedule is not very consistent. We often have groups staying for long weekends, so many of the hours will be in the Thursday – Sunday range, though not entirely. Thus, this role requires schedule flexibility, including the ability to work mornings, weekends, and occasional holidays. Upon request, the Food Services Director will try to schedule your shifts so that they work for you.
The Cook will prepare 1-2 meals on a given day, requiring roughly 3-6 work hours, and will cook approximately 1-2 meals per week. This averages around 6-12 hours per week.
Please note that this work is seasonal in nature. Our work picks up in spring, gets quite busy into summer and fall, and slows in the winter.
