THE RAINBOW LODGE VISION
In 1980, at a gathering in a living room in Issaquah, Dick and Arlene Birdsall shared a dream, a vision, for a retreat center. They spoke of a gathering place for spiritual renewal, personal growth, training and empowerment and relaxation, renewal and restoration.
In that same living room sat Fred and Phyllis Lind. Fred was a lumber mill owner who also owned several parcels of property in the Cascades for timber harvesting. Fred indicated that he had 40 acres of second growth timber near North Bend that he had been holding for years. He wasn’t sure why, but he could never bring himself to log it. He wondered if Dick and Arleen wanted it to build their retreat center.
Rainbow Lodge was born!
Since that time the vision has become reality. Every year thousands of people come to Rainbow Lodge to relax, to be renewed, to learn and to be empowered in their communities and businesses.
